Staying Well and Staying Safe From COVID-19

Due to COVID-19 concerns in Shelby County, Friends For Life is taking the steps necessary to protect the good health and safety of our clients and staff, while still attending to the daily needs of those we serve. From March 16th-30th, we have put the following policies in place for our public facing facilities and services:

FRIENDS FOR LIFE – 43 N. Cleveland

  • All Food Pantry packages will be delivered to those who have not already picked up for March.

  • Our Wellness University and Positive Living Center will be closed.

  • Feast For Friends on March 23rd has been cancelled.

  • All clients who need to get tested will be referred to The Corner at 806 S. Cooper.

  • Kroger services will remain open for clients. Please call first for potential changes to pharmacy services: (901) 333-8243

  • For added protection of our clients and staff, medical grade air filters have been installed in our lobby to combat possible airborne pathogens.

  • We are modifying our service delivery to allow for recommended social distancing. Please call our front desk for assistance before stopping by in person for any of our available services: (901) 272-0855

THE CORNER – 806 S. Cooper St.

The Corner will continue normal operations with only a few limitations:

  • Clients returning for follow up visits, or clients looking to access emergency services such as PEP, who are presenting with cold or flu-like symptoms will be given face masks to wear during consultation.

  • New clients not in need of emergency services who are presenting with cold or flu-like symptoms will be asked to return 72 hours after their symptoms subside.

  • For added protection of our clients and staff, medical grade air filters have been installed to combat possible airborne pathogens.

The Haven - 206 E. GE Patterson

  • The Haven will be closed to the public and will suspend all outreach activities.

  • All clients who need to get tested will be referred to The Corner at 806 S. Cooper.

We know that this situation is rapidly evolving, so we will continue to keep all of our Friends informed as updates become available. Until then, we hope you all continue to stay well…and keep washing your hands!
