Updated: a day ago

Welcome to Friends For Life's October Newsletter!

We have so much exciting news to share with you so keep scrolling! 😁

First, listen to our Clinical Dietician Becky Roland and her daughter, Anna, serenade us with their own violin rendition of the beloved song, "Thank You for Being a Friend!"

Then, our Communications Specialist Hunter Beckham sends all of our Friends a huge THANK YOU 🎉 for being so supportive of our very first virtual newsletter last month.

Listen to our Development Manager, Alexa Bambrick, as she discusses some exciting news within the development department!

Our Virtual Big Gay Dance Party was a HIT and it's all thanks to you! We had so much fun dancing the night away and we hope you enjoyed yourselves too.

Also, in the near future, we will be launching our very first online merchandise store filled with some FFL, The Corner, and The Haven exclusives! Alexa shows off one of the many stylish T-shirts we will be selling when the store launches this Fall.

If you aren't yet, please subscribe to our virtual newsletter and email list! We do this blog post to make our newsletter accessible to everyone, but our email list will include exciting updates about future events and merchandise partnerships.

Finally, listen to our Clinical Services Manager, Allison Greven, as she shouts out our CEO Diane Duke who was recently recognized as one of the Memphis Business Journal's Healthcare Heroes. Check out the interview now and send Diane a huge congrats! 👍

This month, The Corner and The Haven have joined forces to shed light on October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Listen to our newest employee and The Haven's Prevention Manager, Krista Wright Thayer, discuss important information on how to support those who may be affected by domestic violence. Additionally, we share local resources provided by our community partners.

If you or someone you know has been/is being affected by domestic violence, we encourage you to call one of our community partners. Their phone lines and websites are open and they are prepared to help those in need.

The Corner is proud to partner with the Memphis Rape Crisis Center to provide free PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) to anyone who may need it. You always have someone in your corner at The Corner.

If you or someone you know is interested in free PrEP/PEP or receiving a free, confidential HIV/STI test, contact The Corner at:

Finally, listen to our CEO Diane Duke as she recaps some of the organization's milestones this past month.

We recently launched our Lyft Up Your Vote campaign to provide all of our clients safe and accessible transportation to their polling site.

We are still accepting donations for this campaign. Twenty dollars guarantees that one of our immunocompromised clients has a ride to and from the polls during COVID times.

We believe that all of our clients deserve to exercise their right to vote. Your donations help us support them. So, thank you! Click here to watch our campaign kickoff video!

Midsouth Pride was last month and we had a BLAST partaking in Midsouth Pride's Pride-on-Wheels Caravan. We want to thank Midsouth Pride for putting on such a fun and safe pride event and for all the work they do throughout our community.

Also, Diane announces our newest re-addition to the FFL family! John Michael Alderson is returning to fill the role of VP of Development and Community Engagement this November!

Hear John Michael introduce himself and discuss the news himself! We are excited about his return and can't wait to start planning new events during these unprecedented times. 😁

Let us know what you're excited about! We want to hear from you. ❤️

Sincerely,

Your Friends
